Sorry about that. The telephone rang and Oda Momma came home at the same time. Now she is gone again.

I got most of the sauce made for dinner so I think that impressed Oda Momma. Oda Mae was still in the carrier in the bed and I think Oda Momma probably had one of those "what is he doing" looks, but she didn't really say anything.

She had a good time talking to her "old" work friends today. I'm glad.

Noodles are cooking, Oda Mae is still sleeping (is that okay; she's over an hour past her first lunch). What will that do to her night time schedule? Hmmmm.

Oda Momma is coming home for "lunch". She just called and said that she had went out with some "old" office buddies for lunch and now she is going to come home for a little while.....

Oda Mae is still in her carrier in the bed and I haven't really done anything substantial to the house and that wierd smell is still here in the kitchen..........

Hmm, Oda Mae is into her first lunch time now and is still sleeping. (Yes, I checked on her to make sure she was still breathing.) I think maybe that extra 1.5 oz this morning did her in.

Tonight we will have, by decree of Oda Momma,....Lasagna for dinner. So, since the Oda Baby is still sleeping I will commence to prepare the sauce. I have no doubt what-so-ever that Oda Baby will wake up as I'm doing something very messy.

To the mattresses!

Still sleeping in the carrier (which is in the bed). That's pretty much the same as just sleeping in the bed isn't it? Still have a few more minutes before first lunch starts, so.....I think I'll eat lunch as well.

Back from the tire store where we had playtime. Yeahhhhh, playtime. Oda Momma happened to be at the Wal-Mart across the street when she called to see how things were going, so she stopped by to tell us that we were doing it wrong. :) I secretly think that she missed her Oda Mae and just wanted to see her before she went to the Jo Ann Shop.

On the way home Oda Mae fell asleep in the car and is now sleeping peacefully in her carrier next to Daddy while he blogs. Hmmmmm should I try to put her in her bed for naptime? It's naptime right now....

She seems pretty comfy.....

I think not.

We'll just see how she does in her carrier while Daddy goes and does some more practicing. I'm going to have to make some dinner sometime today. I may have to put some thought into that.....

Oda Mae just ate 5.5 oz of second breakfast. That's more than she usually eats...is that okay? I don't know; I guess we'll see if it comes up at the tire place.

Gonna go practice now. I've emptied the dishwasher, taken out the recyclables and the mail and straightened up the living room.

Something smells pretty rank in the kitchen. I'm not sure what it is, but if I find out, I'll let you know.

Big Experiment...

on the homefront today. Oda Momma has left for the day and Oda Daddy is going to be "Mr. Mom" for a day. Just to see how things go. I will update throughout the day and let you all know about my progress....

EPISODE III.5

In a galaxy far, far away there was a young princess, Princess Oda Mae.

She was taken care of on her first night away by her Oda Aunt Sarah and her trusty sidekick, Nikki.

Her Oda Momma and Oda Daddy went to see Episode III and ate a lot of popcorn.

When they got back Princess Oda Mae had played, eaten, and spit up and was asleep. She had a good time!

Thank you Oda Aunt Sarah and Nikki.

So yes, we had a good time as well. We were really looking forward to getting to go out for our first time without Oda Mae. Yes, we missed her, but Episode III totally rocked!

Oda Mae is starting to become mobile. She can scoot herself around in circles when she is on her back. Things seem to be going pretty well in the parenting department right now. We now have more good times than bad. I think the whole "fussiness" thing in the beginning was just Oda Mae getting used to being in the sunlight. (Maybe a little of it was the Oda Parents being in the limelight as well.) Oda Mae is really starting to be a lot more fun now. She smiles and tries to giggle. Playtime is her favorite. Sleepy time is her least favorite.

Last night we had a little incident with the "new-to-us digital camera." We might be posting "previously taken" photos for a while until we get all the pavement out of the lens. :( Just so you know.

Oda Mae has been a little...

under the weather lately. Oda Daddy was very sick this last weekend and past it right along to Oda Mae. She has had a little cough and has been stuffed up (we like to call it snuffalupogouses). That seems to make Oda Mae a little happier. It will also be cute when she is about 3 and tries to tell us that she has 'nuffalupogouseseseses in her dose. :)

Oda Mae is VERY good at holding up her head now. She has also become fond of the elephant above her swing, smiling and basic calculus.

Oda Momma's First Oda Mamma's Day!

We had a very good Mother's Day this last Sunday. Oda Mae got to spend time with her Oda Momma, and Oda Gran, Oda Maw, Oda Aunt Sis, Oda PaPa E, Oda Grandma Marge, and Oda Aunt Sarah. Below are some pics.

Oda Mae seems to be into a somewhat steady schedule of playing, sleeping, and eating. She sleeps through the night sometimes and has not been nearly as fussy as when she first got here. Oda Momma and Oda Daddy are VERY glad. Last week at the Dr., Oda Mae was 11 lb 5 oz. Today we weighed her and she is 12 pounds!!!! She eats like a Tullos. :)

She is starting to make smiles at us and is generally much more active during her playtime. We like to play peek-a-boo, sing songs, stick out our tongue (I know...I'll regret teaching her that someday.), do bicycle legs, and the hokey pokey (con and sans the Hokey Pokey Elmo).

We are extremely fortunate to have a very healthy daughter! She cries sometimes, doesn't stick to OUR schedule sometimes, but that is nothing compared to the love she is beginning to give us!

Sorry, it was just too funny not to post. 

Got a little note in the mail today...

Today Allison got a note in the mail from President and First Lady Bush. (see below) She also got to go see the Pirate Pelican Show at the Southlake Art Festival. She didn't quite make it in time to see Daddy play a concert, but that's okay.

The last two nights Oda Mae has slept through the night and into the morning. I hope that this trend continues.

I'm going to post a few photos in the photo album tonight. I'll put up a link later.

Sorry...

I haven't posted in a while. It's difficult to find a time when I'm awake and alert to want to post a blog entry....

Well, we've been at this whole parenting thing for four weeks now. I wish I could say it has all been fun, but alas....no. Our entire lives have been turned up-side-down. Oda Mae's life has been turned right-side-up. Alli doesn't seem to sleep as much as the "books" say she will and when she is awake she tends to be a bit fussy. The good thing is that she only wakes up once in the middle of the night. (Granted we go to bed at 1am and get up in the morning at 5am), but still we only have to get up once during that time. :)

Some of you know that we went through a couple of tough days there at the beginning. She wasn't "getting rid of any wastes" if you know what I mean. We had to call the Dr. during an "emergency" hour and we moved our Dr.s appointment up a couple of days as well. All of that seems to be behind us now. She has regular diapers and everything.

I think that the hardest thing for Brenda to get used to is (I'm guessing here) to know what to do with her. She is with Alli 24/7, and I know she gets really tired sometimes. How many times can you sing all the songs you know before you just start going a little mad? Brenda has made great strides though. She is really doing an incredible job!!!!!
For me I have to admit that I'm a little jealous. For 6 1/2 years I had Brenda all to myself. Now I have to share. It isn't just the two of us any more, it's the three of us. What a different concept!

In spite of everything we really are enjoying our new lives. Oda Mae is getting bigger every day. She makes cute little noises. She loves her little dog and her little bunny. She is also learning to love us while we are learning to love her.

We have been taking a lot of pictures lately thanks to the "new to us" digital camera that we have taken possession of thanks to Grandma Marge and PaPa E. Thank You!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'll put up a new link to another album page soon. In the mean time, below is few of our favorites!

One more thing. I am in the middle of looking for a new job outside of playing and teaching the trumpet. While I will not be completely giving these things up it would be nice to have a steady income, insurance, retirement benefits, etc... If you could all pray for me that God would put me where he wants me, I would be most grateful.
